On 14 and 15 September 2017 in Paris, a delegation of NDRC officials led by Director General Li Kang, Employment and Income distribution department, and Chinese experts Zhou Hong and Li Shi took part in an international workshop on Parametric reform and income redistribution through public pension schemes, as well as in the second High level EU-China policy dialogue on Employment and social security reforms, centred around Inclusive growth and social integration. From the European side, a number of experts took part in the discussions, as well as representatives from the European Commission, the EU Working Group on Pension adequacy and the OECD. High-level representatives from the French authorities addressed the International Workshop and the Policy dialogue, while Expertise France, acting as both Coordinator and Secretariat for this important Component 1 activity, organized the meetings. Following the meetings in Paris, the NDRC delegation proceeded to Finland and Sweden, where it reviewed the experience of these countries on income redistribution through social protection mechanisms.
